Hyeon-Gyu starts, Holm axed in 4-3-3: Celtic predicted XI v Motherwell

Celtic will seek to extend their 13-game unbeaten streak in the league when they welcome Motherwell to Parkhead on Saturday (25 November).

With Philippe Clement’s new-look Rangers ready to push the Hoops to the wire, Football Insider has predicted a strong starting XI for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Defence

Few would tip Joe Hart to be axed from the starting line-up meaning the former England international would be expected in between the sticks behind Liam Scales and Cameron Carter-Vickers at centre-back.

Celtic

With two consecutive league clean sheets, Rodgers may be reluctant to swap out any of his backline, meaning Greg Taylor and Alistair Johnston are likely to remain as his full-backs.

Midfield

After bagging himself a stoppage-time goal in the Hoops’ 6-0 mauling of Aberdeen prior to the break, David Turnbull could earn his eighth league start in place of Odin Holm.

Matt O’Riley’s senior international debut did not go to plan after Denmark’s 2-0 loss to Northern Ireland but he is likely to keep his spot in the middle of the park next to Callum McGregor.

Attack

Kyogo Furuhashi suffered a brutal head injury against Aberdeen, but Oh Hyeon-Gyu’s late brace against the Dons could be enough for Rodgers to give the South Korean a start alongside Yang Hyun-Jun on the wings.

Luis Palma is yet to return to Parkhead from the Honduras camp, but in the absence of Daizen Maeda, Rodgers will have little option but to play him – especially after his goal and a hattrick of assists last time out.
