Alex Bruce believes Celtic will make it difficult for the likes of West Ham and Everton to sign Olivier Ntcham this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, the former Kilmarnock defender insists that the French midfielder is a “very good player” that Neil Lennon will not want to lose.
As reported by 90min.com, West Ham and Everton have joined Southampton in the hunt to sign the 24-year-old this summer despite his fall down the pecking order at Parkhead.
He started just 17 times in the Scottish Premiership last season and has come on as a substitute in all three of the Bhoys’ games this term.
However, Bruce still believes it will be difficult for any clubs to prise Ntcham from the Glasgow giants this summer.
“I would be very surprised if Celtic let anybody go at the minute because they desperately want that 10-in-a-row,” Bruce told Football Insider.
“I know for a fact they’re digging their heels in for Edouard and people like that so I think there will be hardly any outgoings at Celtic, I’m sure Lenny will want to keep as strong a squad as possible, especially having to play catch up to Rangers with games that have been postponed.
“To get anyone out of Celtic I think will be difficult. However, Ntcham is a very good player, he’s had his difficulties up at Celtic so if someone cam prise him away, he’ll be a good acquisition for someone, that’s for sure.”
Ntcham has a total of 126 appearances under his belt for the Bhoys since his move from Manchester City in 2017.
His current contract, which he signed in 2018, is set to run until the summer of 2022.
