'I know it's wrong of me to say...' - Leeds Exclusive: Bruce delivers Bielsa verdict

Marcelo Bielsa has put Leeds United “back on the map”.

That is the verdict of ex-United defender Alex Bruce, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge about the impact made by the Argentine manager at Elland Road.

Leeds continued their winning run with a 2-0 home win today against Huddersfield Town to go top of the Championship and seven points clear of third-placed Fulham.

United are short-odd favourites with bookmakers to secure automatic promotion this season and end their decade-and-a-half outside of the Premier League.

Bruce is in no doubt about the influence of the unorthodox and fabled coach who took over in the summer of 2018.

“He’s put Leeds back on the map really,” Bruce told Football Insider.
“I know it’s wrong of me to say back on the map because it’s a massive club and everyone knows that.

“But in terms of competing at the end of the table, with what the Championship is, and the way he’s got the team playing, for the last couple of seasons I think they’ve been really good.”

Bielsa’s side have now won their past five games without conceding a goal, with the last two coming with rookie goalkeeper Illan Meslier between the posts.

West Brom’s 0-0 draw at Swansea City today means Leeds go back to the top of the table for the first time since 14 December.

In other Leeds United news, it can be REVEALED that the club are set to announce a blockbuster deal after extensive negotiations.
