‘I know Karren Brady well’ – West Ham chief could be about to ‘leave’ the club

Karren Brady could step down from her position at West Ham if the club reports a loss of £100million in their next financial accounts.

That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who states that Brady could become the “sacrificial lamb” at West Ham if they are relegated from the Premier League.

West Ham fans have called for Brady, and chairman David Sullivan, to resign from their roles at the club, with frequent protests having occurred at matches this season.

The Hammers are currently in the Premier League relegation zone, and dropping to the Championship would be a huge financial blow for the club.

Karren Brady could ‘ride out’ financial battle at West Ham

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – thinks Brady has previously “taken credit” for West Ham’s positive financial results.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness believes Brady could use West Ham’s next financial results as a reason to quit the club.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast:  “Well, Karren, you know, I’ve dealt with Karren over many years now in the Premier League, and I’ve observed her in the way she’s acted and look, she’s taken credit a lot of the time for what were West Ham’s good financial results.

“I think we’re going to see a massive loss coming up reported from West Ham, probably in the £100million sort of range, which is a massive number.

“And whether she will decide to use that as the reason to go, or whether she will stay on and ride out that battle, I don’t know what’s going to happen. I think she could be the sacrificial lamb if you like in terms of the West Ham situation this season.”

Concern over Jarrod Bowen emerges

West Ham will need captain Jarrod Bowen to step up in their relegation fight, with questions having been asked about the 29-year-old’s recent performances.

Bowen has failed to score in his last three Premier League games, and is likely to leave West Ham if they’re relegated.

Despite a dip in form, the forward is still expected to start when West Ham travel to Liverpool next in the Premier League.
