Darren Bent has admitted he was “shocked” to see Rodrigo Moreno start on the substitutes’ bench for Leeds United against Everton.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, the former Aston Villa and England striker insisted Marcelo Bielsa needs to find a way to get as many of his “quality” players on the pitch as possible.
The Argentine boss chose to stick with an unchanged side from the one which drew 0-0 at Arsenal against the Toffees, meaning the 29-year-old at Goodison Park started among the substitutes for the fifth time this season.

Leeds won the match 1-0 through a long-range strike from Raphinha to secure their first win in four Premier League matches,
Bent admitted he is not sure why the Spain international was not named among the starting XI as the Whites look to find their cutting edge once again.
Asked if we was surprised Rodrigo started on the bench on Saturday, Bent told Football Insider: “Yeah, I am, that has shocked me to be fair.
“It’s hard because I can never understand what Bielsa’s thinking – does he not think he’s ready to go yet? You just don’t know. They just need to start finding a way of picking up points again now and finish off some of their chances.
“Leeds have just got try and find a way of getting their squad together, limit the injuries and getting as many quality players on the pitch.”
The draw against Arsenal was only the second time Leeds had failed to find the back of the net in nine games, although they only struck once against both Leicester City and Crystal Palace.
Rodrigo’s only starts this season came in the 4-3 win over Fulham- when he was hooked at half-time – and the 1-0 defeat to Wolves.
In other Leeds United news, Noel Whelan insists an 18-year-old is set for an imminent role in the first-team XI.
