Ian Poveda has played last Leeds United match as decision made – sources
Ian Poveda will not be handed a contract renewal at Leeds United and has played his last game for the Whites, sources have told Football Insider.
The 24-year-old is currently on loan at Sheffield Wednesday after joining the Owls until the end of the season on 1 February.
His contract at Elland Road is set to expire in June.
Poveda took part in seven consecutive games for Wednesday before missing the loss against Leeds last week (8 March) as he is ineligible to face his parent club.
He has notched one assist in 461 total minutes for Danny Rohl’s Owls side, who are fighting against relegation back to League One.

The winger had also played 248 total minutes in 10 appearances for Leeds earlier this season but fell well down the pecking order as Daniel Farke decided on his best side.
Poveda is no stranger to Championship football and has also had loan spells with Blackpool and Blackburn in the second tier.
The ex-Man City, Chelsea and Barcelona academy product has made 30 Leeds appearances since joining in January 2020 but is yet to score.
Nevertheless, he made his senior Colombia debut in December 2023 and now has two caps – despite turning out for England at youth level.

Jamie Shackleton, Liam Cooper, Sam Byram and Stuart Dallas are also out of contract in June.
Leeds have taken big steps toward promotion in recent weeks and could go to the top of the Championship on Sunday (17 March).
