Ian Taylor expresses his anger after woeful Aston Villa performance against Reading
By Amir Mir
Ian Taylor has expressed his anger on Twitter after Aston Villa suffered a 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Reading on Saturday afternoon.
Steve Bruce’s side produced a woeful display in front of their own fans as a Joseph Mendes’ brace helped the Royals record a much-needed three points in their race for promotion.
The away team came into this match having suffered a humiliating 7-1 loss at the hands of Norwich the week before.
However, in the opening six minutes, they were gifted with the first goal when a mistake from Jordan Amavi resulted in Mendes firing home.
James Chester did pull one back for the hosts but straight after the break Amavi was caught out once again on the left-hand side as Mendes netted his second for the afternoon.

It was a sloppy display from Villa throughout with Leandro Bacuna, now playing at left-back after Amavi’s substitution, gifting a penalty which was duly converted by Lewis Grabban.
After the match, club legend and former midfielder Taylor issued this mini-assessment of Villa’s performance on the day.
“Angry man,” Taylor wrote on his personal Twitter account. ” Far too sloppy today. Too many mistakes that got punished.”

Another tough encounter awaits Bruce’s team as they travel to Craven Cottage to take on promotion hopefuls Fulham on Monday afternoon.
Villa, who have lost only two matches from their last ten games, will be looking for a response with the derby against Birmingham City coming up on April 23.
