Aston Villa favourite Ian Taylor has reacted “not bad” to Jonathan Kodjia’s wonder strike for the Ivory Coast on Friday afternoon.
The 27-year-old striker opened the scoring for his national team with a spectacular effort as they ran out 2-0 victors over Russia in a friendly meeting.
Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha netted his country’s second and final goal, but it was Kodjia’s strike which made the headlines.
The Aston Villa ace held off the challenge from a Russian defender before breaking into the box and unleashing a stunning effort which found the top right-hand corner.
The goal received many plaudits and one came from former Villa midfielder Taylor, who simply wrote on his personal Twitter account “not bad” alongside three clapping emojis.

France-born Kodjia made his debut for the Ivory Coast back in May and he has since scored four goals in nine matches.
He has a similarly impressive strike rate with Aston Villa and he has struck 15 goals in 30 outings in all competitions for the Championship side since joining for an £11million fee in the summer.
Villa fans will now be hoping Kodjia continues his impressive strike rate with Norwich coming up next for the Midlands giants as they aim for a late charge at the play-offs.
In other Aston Villa news, this 26-year-old flop has revealed he still follows Villa every week.
