Ian Wright backs Everton to sign talanted Premier League ace
By Amir Mir
Ian Wright has backed Everton to sign Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford because he believes he would have “learnt a lot from this season”.
The 23-year-old Premier League ace has been a standout performer for David Moyes’ side this term despite his team sitting rock-bottom of the Premier League table.
Despite their woes on the field, he has produced a number of Man of the Match displays which has seen his stock rise in the top flight.
Former Arsenal striker Wright is an admirer of the highly-rated youngster and he explained why he could fit into Ronald Koeman’s plans.
“Jordan Pickford could be one Everton [could] go for,” Wright told BBC 606. “He’s a talented young goalkeeper and would have learnt a lot this season.”

Over the course of the season, Pickford has played 25 matches in all competitions for the struggling Black Cats, keeping only four clean sheets.
It is highly likely that David Moyes’ side, who are ten points adrift of safety, will be relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
If Pickford were to make a switch to Goodison Park then the talented shot-stopper would battle with current first teamer Joel Robles for the goalkeeping jersey.
Additionally, the Toffees backup man Maarten Stekelenburg could also provide competition for Pickford as the club’s summer signing did start the season between the sticks.
Pickford has come up against Koeman’s side on two occasions in the league this term conceding five goals in both matches.
