Ian Wright: Tottenham 23-year-old can break Premier League all-time record
By Matt Farr
Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes Tottenham’s Harry Kane can beat the all-time Premier League goals record.
Former Newcastle striker Alan Shearer is the current all-time top goalscorer in the Premier League with 260 goals, but Wright insists that Harry Kane is the one person that could beat it.
Kane has already netted 13 times from just 16 league games this season, including a sensational hat-trick in Tottenham’s last outing against West Brom.
The 23-year-old now has 62 Premier League goals to his name, a remarkable achievement for a player that only broke into the first-team setup three years ago.

He also admitted that Kane was in a two-horse race for the Premier League Golden Boot this season with Manchester United’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
“If there’s one person Alan Shearer has to worry about getting near his record of 260 Premier League goals, Harry Kane with his age and his strike-rate could come close.
“It’s going to be out of Harry Kane and Zlatan to win the Golden Boot.
“I think Kane will get goals more frequently because he is their main man. I fancy him to be prolific through to the end of the season.”
Wright does not expect the likes of Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez, Chelsea’s Diego Costa or Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero to be in contention for the award at the end of the season.
Sanchez and Costa are both currently level with Ibrahimovic on 14 goals, the highest in the league, but Kane can also draw level if he finds the back of the net against Manchester City on Saturday.
