Arsenal legend Ian Wright made the observation that Everton boss Ronald Koeman seemed different during his side’s 4-0 defeat to Manchester United.
The Toffees boss watched his squad fail to make the scoresheet while his former top goal scorer, Romelu Lukaku, hammered home the third goal of the heavy loss.
Koeman was appointed as the Blues boss last summer and during the previous season guided his team to seventh place in the top flight standings.
The Toffees haven’t had a particularly strong start to their campaign and despite usually remaining positive and focussed, former footballer, turned pundit, Ian Wright didn’t think the manager appeared to be his usual self throughout the game at Old Trafford.
“Looking at Koeman, he doesn’t seem himself” tweeted Wright, alongside a thinking emoji.
Wright posted his thoughts on his personal Twitter account during the first-half of the match on Sunday.
A number of factors could’ve contributed to Koeman’s mood during Sunday’s match, but the realisation of where his club would be in the standings after another loss may have been the issue.
Everton’s latest defeat signifies their third loss of the campaign so far which sees the Toffees land in 18th position with an embarrassing lack of points.
The only clubs beneath the Merseyside club at the moment after five matches are Bournemouth and Crystal Palace, who recently sacked manager Frank de Boer after failing to secure a victory in four games.
