Ian Wright says what every Man United fan is thinking about Bruno Fernandes: ‘It’s not what you want to hear’
Ian Wright has made his feelings clear on Bruno Fernandes’ recent comments about Manchester United.
Fernandes could be set to leave Manchester United next year, with the midfielder reportedly assessing his options.
The 31-year-old revealed in an interview with Canal 11 this week that the Red Devils wanted him to accept a proposed move to Al Hilal in the summer.
Fernandes’ move to Al Hilal collapsed after the Portugal international decided to stay in the Premier League.
Manchester United have no plans to let Fernandes leave in the coming months, despite having been tempted by the Saudi Pro League‘s summer offer.

Fernandes admitted that he was saddened by Manchester United‘s willingness to let him leave, after five years at Old Trafford.
The midfielder arrived from Sporting CP in 2020, and has further proved his importance to the Red Devils with every passing season.
This season already, the Manchester United captain has scored five goals and provided seven assists, often dragging his team to positive results.

Fernandes was captured venting his frustration after a draw with Bournemouth on Monday, in a picture that summed up the mood at Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim‘s team constantly feel just one negative result away from crisis, with consistency extremely hard to come by.
Speaking about Fernandes’ comments, Wright said he understood the feelings behind the statement.
“It comes back down to the Manchester United indecisiveness,” the former Arsenal striker told The Overlap on Thursday.
“In respect of, someone has come in for Bruno, you shut that down! Because Bruno didn’t want to go, Bruno is saying that they said to him: ‘Well, it’s up to you, if you want to leave.’
“That’s not what you want to hear from someone like him who is literally holding the club up himself. You want the club to say: ‘You’re not going nowhere, you’re a massive part of this.’
“Man United didn’t do that, they gave him the opportunity to say: ‘well if you want to stay, you can stay, if you want to go, you can go.’ What’s that saying? I’d take him tomorrow!”
Fernandes reveals why he turned down Al Hilal move
Fernandes has been criticised for petulant fouling at times, for giving the ball away cheaply and for complaining to the referee.
But nobody could ever claim that the midfielder does not give his all for the badge on his shirt.
“I could have left in this transfer window, I would have earned much more money,” he told Canal 11. “I would have won many trophies this season, but I decided not to go, not only for family reasons but because I genuinely love the club.”
In Fernandes, Manchester United have a captain who undoubtedly sits among the top players in European football, and who would give everything for his club.
Given their position, and the way in which they are run, that seems to be somewhat of a miracle.
With their treatment of him, however, Manchester United risk letting that blessing slip out of their fingers to seek a better environment.
