Ianis Hagi told to quit Rangers for new club after latest – ‘it’s going to happen’, says expert
Ianis Hagi doesn’t deserve to be in the Rangers squad for European matches.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Gers defender Alan Hutton said Rabbi Matondo proved to Michael Beale that he deserved to be included for the game against PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday (22 August).
Following a cameo in last weekend’s Viaplay Cup game against Greenock Morton, Hagi shared his frustration about a lack of mintues.
Speaking on the 24-year-old ahead of the game against PSV, Beale acknowledged that Hagi wants to play week in week out and suggested it will be a situation that needs to be addressed before the end of the window.
Hutton insisted Beale was right to leave Hagi out but insisted the attacker deserves to play.
“I think if he is having these conversations with the manager already he is probably looking and thinking what does his future hold,” he told Football Insider.
“There have been a lot of incomings in that area of the pitch. I know he has been out for a long period of time and he will just be desperate to play football the same as anyone would be in his situation.

“You obviously feel sorry for him, he is not in the Champions League squad at this moment in time, I totally agree with what the manager has done. Matondo totally deserved to be in it after what he has done.
“But I understand from Hagi’s point of view that he wants to play games. If that is going to happen he might have to look elsewhere.“
