Ianis Hagi’s £600,000 Rangers clause revealed – report

Rangers would reportedly be forced to give outcast Ianis Hagi a wage rise if he plays one more game for the club.

The 25-year-old has been deemed surplus to requirements by Philippe Clement, which has led to the attacking midfielder spending all his time with the B team so far this season.

According to Daily Record, if Hagi plays another game for the Gers then he would receive a wage increase.

His weekly fee would rise by around £6,000, meaning the club would be forced into spending £600,000 if he stayed for the remaining two years of his contract.

Hagi has currently made 99 appearances for the Light Blues, and a clause will trigger if he becomes a centurian.

Rangers were open to selling Hagi during the summer transfer window but were unable to secure a move for the Romania international.

Rangers have an Ianis Hagi problem

Hagi hasn’t played a minute of football for Rangers this season, although he did make two substitute appearances for Romania during the recent international break.

The attacking midfielder spent last season on loan at Deportivo Alaves where he played 22 times in La Liga.

Hagi has scored 16 goals and provided 21 assists at Rangers since signing for the club in 2020.

Hagi has publicly stated his desire to fight for his place in the Rangers team after claiming that he loves the club.

However, he has remained an outcast under Clement, despite the mixed results the team have had this season.
