Ibrahima Konate, Alexis Mac Allister react to Luis Diaz amid Liverpool exit rumours
Ibrahima Konate and Alexis Mac Allister have reacted to a new update from Luis Diaz amid speculation around his future at Liverpool this summer.
Liverpool are not resting on their laurels after their recent Premier League title win, with Florian Wirtz recently signed from Bayer Leverkusen for a hefty £116m transfer fee.
Arne Slot’s desire to freshen up his attacking options means Liverpool have been linked with a move for in-demand Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, while Rafael Leao is also reportedly on the Reds’ radar alongside Chelsea and Arsenal.
Their activity could spell the end of one forward’s stay at Anfield, with Football Insider recently revealing that Liverpool are trying to force through a move to the Saudi Pro League for Darwin Nunez.
Nunez is not the only Reds frontman who could be on his way out, though, with Diaz also linked away this summer despite playing a key role in their top-flight success last term.

Luis Diaz takes to Instagram amid Liverpool exit rumours
Football Insider revealed in May that Liverpool will be open to selling Diaz if the right offer arrives this summer, but the Reds are said to be “baffled” by the speculation which has grown around the Colombian, with Barcelona believed to be interested.
There is interest from the Saudi Pro League in Diaz, but links to Barca have been scarce recently amid the La Liga champions’ attempts to sign Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams.
Diaz seems relaxed about the situation at hand, after he took to Instagram on Wednesday (25 June) to post a number of pictures of him away on holiday with his family with a caption of sun, waves and smiling-face emojis.
The 28-year-old’s post was reacted to by a number of his Liverpool teammates, with Konate, who recently rejected the Reds’ new contract offer, Mac Allister, Alisson, Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai all liking it, while Crystal Palace’s Daniel Munoz commented, saying: “Que riquera manito,” which translates to “How rich little man.”
Liverpool should not sell Diaz after his starring role in their title win
Football Insider verdict
Diaz has been a key man for Liverpool ever since he joined the club from Porto in January 2022, and was probably at his most influential on the left-wing last season, despite Mo Salah stealing most of the headlines.
The Colombian international registered 17 goals and eight assists in 50 appearances in 2024/25, which was a definite improvement on his 13 goals and seven assists in 51 games in the season prior.
Appearances | Goals | Assists |
148 | 41 | 23 |
It does, therefore, make little sense for the Reds to look to sell him anytime soon, and Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke recently revealed that Liverpool remain hopeful Diaz will stay put this summer and have opened new contract talks.
He is still a valuable part of Slot’s squad, and his ability to dance past defenders and score stunning goals will certainly be useful as the Anfield outfit look to repeat their Premier League exploits next season and add to their Champions League trophy haul once more.
