Ibrahima Konate responds as Liverpool star pictured with Anthony Gordon

Ibrahima Konate joined several Liverpool players in responding to a post featuring Anthony Gordon alongside Curtis Jones, as speculation over a potential move to Anfield continues to intensify.

Gordon endured a frustrating end to the season at Newcastle, with Eddie Howe favouring Harvey Barnes on the left flank in the final stretch of the campaign.

His future remains uncertain, and Football Insider recently reported that Newcastle may be willing to part ways with Gordon if Liverpool meet their £75 million valuation.

The Reds were previously close to securing Gordon’s signature last summer but opted to stick with Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota instead.

However, with the transfer window now open, fresh links have re-emerged and Jones’ recent post has only added fuel to the fire.

Liverpool stars react as Curtis Jones links up with Anthony Gordon amid transfer speculation

Transfer speculation intensified earlier this week as Jones and Gordon were pictured spending time together on holiday, further fuelling rumours surrounding a potential move for the Newcastle winger.

Jones has since shared more off-season updates on social media, once again featuring Gordon in his post with the caption: “Family & Friends.”

The post received widespread attention, with several Liverpool players responding. Konate commented enthusiastically with “DAWN” while club captain Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo, and Andy Robertson all liked the post.

Gordon also replied, writing “My brother” in a message that highlighted the duo’s strong relationship off the pitch.

Speculation is heating up as Liverpool have been long-time admirers of Gordon. Although there were concerns earlier in the window over Newcastle’s financial standing, their Champions League qualification has eased pressure and strengthened their hand in negotiations.

Despite ending the season as more of a rotational option, Gordon still registered nine goals and seven assists across 42 appearances in all competitions for the Magpies.

While Konate remains upbeat on social media, he might not be lining up alongside Jones—and potentially Gordon—next season.

Football Insider revealed on 16 June that Konate could leave Liverpool in the coming weeks due to a stall in contract negotiations.

He has just one year remaining on his current deal, and Real Madrid are interested in signing Konate, either during this window or by waiting to secure him on a free transfer next summer.

However, Liverpool look to be keen to avoid a repeat of the Trent Alexander-Arnold situation and may look to sell Konate if talks continue to drag without progress.
