Ibrahima Konate: Significant Liverpool update today
Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate has shared a three-word injury update following their victory against Brighton on Saturday (2 November).
The 25-year-old centre-back was forced off at halftime against Seagulls after what appeared to be an arm injury.
Arne Slot replaced Konate with Joe Gomez for the second half as the Reds defeated Brighton 2-1 after goals from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah.
Konate updated fans via Instagram, “Thanks for all the messages of support. My injury isn’t serious thankfully.
“I had a scan today and it confirmed there is no break. I’ll be ready for the next game.”
The fact that Konate’s arm isn’t broken is a positive situation for Konate as there will be no need for surgery, meaning the Reds will be bolstered by having him available.
The Reds will play Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday (5 November) in the Champions League before facing Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday (9 November).
Ibrahima Konate has been a key player for Liverpool this season
The France international has been an essential part of Slot’s team this season, having featured in all 10 of Liverpool’s Premier League matches.
Konate has also played four times outside of the Premier League, scoring twice and providing one assist.

Konate had fallen out of the starting lineup towards the end of Jurgen Klopp’s time in charge of the club, but he has built up a strong partnership with Virgil van Dijk this season.
The Reds have been the strongest team defensively in the Premier League this season, having only conceded six goals in the opening 10 matches.
