Ibrox Exclusive: Hutton drools over Rangers new boy he’s seen give Tavernier the runaround
EXCLUSIVE
Alan Hutton has hailed winger Jordan Jones as a future Rangers star after seeing him give James Tavernier the runaround.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Russell Edge, the ex-Scotland and Ibrox star explained why he is a big admirer of the Northern Ireland international.
Jones was one of Rangers’ summer signings after being signed for a compensation fee following the expiry of his Kilmarnock contract.

Jones has been out since he injured himself making a wild tackle for which he was dismissed against Celtic at the start of the month but Hutton expects him to thrive when he returns.
“He’s one who gave Rangers a tough time every time I watched him,” Hutton told Football Insider. “Every time they played Kilmarnock it was probably one of the toughest games for Tavernier, I think.
“That really helped show Gerrard what he could do. A good signing, I think obviously what happened in the Old Firm was not out of character but a bit of frustration.
“It’s going to take time, they’ve got some good players in good areas and it might be difficult for him but I think he’s got ability that can really help.”

Jones made 10 appearances for Rangers before his injury, supplying two assists as he still waits for his first goal for his new club.
The five-times international arrived at Ibrox after a lengthy spell at Kilmarnock, where he scored 11 times and provided 22 assists from 119 appearances.
