Ibrox Exclusive: McNamara suggests Rangers forward set for first app this season v Livingston
Jackie McNamara says that he expects Ryan Kent to make an immediate return to Rangers action against Livingston after signing permanently from Liverpool this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, the former Scotland international says that Gers manager Steven Gerrard will want to get the winger back up to speed as quickly as possible after missing a handful of weeks of competitive football.
Kent did not feature once for Liverpool during the opening stages of the Premier League season, meaning his last competitive first-team outing came back in May for Rangers.

With Gerrard confirming the wide man is available after signing a permanent deal, McNamara is expecting Kent to make his first appearance of the season on Saturday against Livingston, either from the bench or among the starting XI.
He told Football Insider: “It depends on how many games (he needs) or how fit he is. They’ll have to study his fitness but I imagine he’ll be in the squad and playing (some part).

“They’ll want to get him in, get him playing as quick as he can if he’s not fully fit.”
Kent played a total of 43 times for the Light Blues last season, scoring six goals and notching nine assists to earn him the SPFA’s Young Player of the Year award.
He leaves Liverpool with just one first-team appearance for the Reds, having spent much of his professional career on loan at the likes of Barnsley, Coventry City and Bristol City.
In other Rangers news, McNamara has told Football Insider he feels the club have suffered a big first-team blow.
