Idrissa Gueye bids farewell as Everton confirm another player exit
Idrissa Gueye left an emotional farewell for an Everton teammate as the club enters a summer of major change.
Everton are preparing for a busy transfer window in what will be David Moyes’ first summer back in charge, as the Friedkin Group look to usher in a new era.
With fresh arrivals expected, the club have already confirmed several departures, including Ashley Young and Abdoulaye Doucoure, whose contracts at Everton have now expired.
Gueye is another player facing an uncertain future, with his current deal set to run out at the end of the month. It has been reported that Everton have offered Gueye a contract extension, though an agreement is yet to be reached.
Amid the uncertainty, the Senegal international has now posted a heartfelt message to a teammate who will leave the club this summer.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin confirms Everton exit after nine years
After nine years on Merseyside, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has officially confirmed he will leave Everton this summer when his contract expires.
The striker posted an emotional farewell message on Instagram, which earned plenty of reaction, including a message from Idrissa Gueye, who simply commented: “Champ” with a heart emoji and liked the post.
Calvert-Lewin made 273 appearances for Everton after arriving from Sheffield United back in 2016, scoring 71 goals and registering 22 assists in all competitions.
However, the 28-year-old has struggled with persistent injury problems in recent seasons, missing 15 matches during the 2024/25 campaign.
Football Insider revealed that Calvert-Lewin turned down multiple contract offers from Everton in the months leading up to his deal expiring, with the club already assessing alternative attacking options in the transfer market.
Newcastle United have shown strong interest in Calvert-Lewin the striker on a free transfer, though there are said to be concerns over his injury record, leaving his next destination uncertain for now.

Idrissa Gueye could follow Dominic Calvert-Lewin in Everton departure
Gueye’s future at Everton is also hanging in the balance, with fears the Toffees could lose another key player alongside Calvert-Lewin this summer.
Football Insider previously revealed that Gueye is looking increasingly likely to leave Everton and is attracting interest from French clubs, with his contract also set to expire.
It’s believed the club have made a last-ditch attempt to extend his stay, though it remains to be seen whether the offer aligns with Gueye’s expectations and ambitions at this stage of his career.
