‘I’m beginning to hate him’ – Arsenal fans rip into Ethan Nwaneri after what he did vs Slavia Prague

Ethan Nwaneri disappointed in a rare start for Arsenal as they beat Slavia Prague 3-0 in the Champions League on 4 November.

Nwaneri struggled for Arsenal against Slavia Prague as he was given an opportunity to prove himself to Mikel Arteta.

Nwaneri is one of the youngest Premier League players of all-time, yet his immaturity clearly showed in Europe as he was unable to win the bulk of his duels.

Similarly, Nwaneri has been touted as Martin Odegaard’s long-term replacement, but he still has much work to do before breaking into the starting XI on a regular basis.

Nwaneri fails to meet Mikel Arteta’s demands as Arsenal supporters upset over performance

From a creative point of view, the Englishman had a solid game, completing 95 per cent of his passes as well as delivering two key passes.

However, Gunners fans were annoyed by his poor defensive work, an attribute which every player must have if they want to have success in Arteta‘s system.

The 18-year-old won just two of his eight duels in 65 minutes, highlighting his disinterest in winning the ball back from the opposition.

This led to his substitution for Eberechi Eze as the number 22 left the pitch on a yellow card, summing up an underwhelming all-round display.

Arsenal supporters noted his below-par showing, with one saying: “Nwaneri is so fixated on scoring he is lacking in every other department.” with another adding: “Nwaneri is just unnecessarily selfish and I’m beginning to hate him for that.”
