‘I’m hearing Everton can get £20m signing done thanks to transfer clause; he’s highly rated’
Everton have not ruled out the possibility of signing Celta Vigo right-back Oscar Mingueza in the summer transfer window.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, as David Moyes searches for a right-back this summer.
The position is considered a high priority for the Toffees, with Moyes wanting to upgrade on his current options.
As the club pushes for European football, Everton need to strengthen their squad, with centre-back Jake O’Brien having frequently been asked to play right-back this season.

VISIT THE EVERTON TRANSFER HUBOscar Mingueza ‘being considered’ by Everton
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – states that Mingueza has a £20million release clause.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness thinks that whilst the 26-year-old is “highly rated,” he is not at the top of Everton’s list of signings.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think it’s a bit more speculation. When I checked into it, I think, Barcelona have about a 50% sell-on on him.
“So, Celta Vigo, if they do get it, they won’t be getting much out of it. And I’m hearing he’s got a release clause of about £20million. Now, there’s no doubt he’s been highly rated, but I just don’t see him being the one at the top of the list of right backs.
“I know that we’d like to have a bit of youth in there somewhere. But I think Moyes is looking for a little bit more experience and so it’s one that I would say is more speculation at the moment, but I know that he’s certainly being considered.”

John Stones to Everton latest
Wyness told Football Insider that John Stones’ injury problems could put Everton off a move for the 31-year-old in the summer.
Stones will be available as a free agent when his contract at Manchester City expires, and the defender has enjoyed a three-year spell on Merseyside previously.
Whilst he would be welcomed back to the club, Stones has only managed four Premier League starts this season due to injury.
