‘I’m hearing from my sources’ – Donnarumma’s next club tipped after Man City and Man United interest

Gianluigi Donnarumma is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer and a top source has revealed where he could be going next.

The Italy international has fallen out with PSG, after the French side bought Lucas Chevalier from Lille to be their new starting goalkeeper.

A number of Premier League sides have been credited with an interest in the 26-year-old, including Manchester United and Chelsea.

Then on Tuesday (12 April), Football Insider exclusively revealed that Manchester City had entered the race for Donnarumma.

However, Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes the shot-stopper may be moving back to Italy instead.

‘Gianluigi Donnarumma could end up at Inter Milan’

This article contains exclusive comment from Keith Wyness, former Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen CEO.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness revealed that he has heard from his sources that Donnarumma could end up at Inter Milan, rather than making a move to the Premier League.

The PSG keeper started his career in Italy, coming through the ranks at AC Milan, but could now be set to join their arch-rivals.

Wyness added that Man United need to offload Andre Onana before they can consider bringing in Donnarumma.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Man United have been trying to get rid of Onana and there’s been no movement there.

“Then they seemed to be friends again with Onana, and they were going to stick with him, and everybody was saying lovely things about each other. They’ve got an issue there. They’ve got to get rid of Onana first before they can move for Donnarumma.

“Now, Donnarumma, his agents have been working really hard on this. I’m surprised PSG are letting him go, to be honest. I mean, he’s a talent, and he’s still a good age for a goalkeeper as well.

“I think he may end up back in Italy. Inter Milan is what I’m hearing from my sources. I think Chelsea are interested in him as well.

“Chelsea have not had the greatest success with keepers for a while, since the Peter Cech days really. So, you know, that could be a move there, but there are other options as well.”

‘Carlos Baleba wants Man United’

Meanwhile, Carlos Baleba reportedly wants to move to Man United this summer and hopes they can agree terms with Brighton.

That is according to their former chief scout Mick Brown, who claims that the 21-year-old is eager to join Ruben Amorim’s side.

The midfielder is said to have spoken to friends in the United squad and is keen on the switch, although it is unlikely he will push for the move.

This comes after Football Insider revealed on 12 August that Man United are pushing to sign Baleba as part of an ambitious plan late in the window.
