‘I’m so happy’ – Birmingham City fans are saying the same thing about potential new signing after latest

Birmingham City drew 1-1 with fellow newly-promoted side Wrexham in the Championship on Friday, but supporters were left pleased by one aspect of their side’s performance.

Football Insider have exclusively revealed that Davies is under scrutiny amid Birmingham’s inconsistent form in the second tier.

Blues have not won in the Championship since their 1-0 triumph over Swansea City on 20 September.

Meanwhile, Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson has also come under pressure, as the Red Dragons have earned just two wins in nine league attempts.

Birmingham supporters want Blues to sign Patrick Roberts permanently

Birmingham’s 1-1 draw with Wrexham came thanks to Patrick Roberts’ equaliser, after George Dobson opened the scoring for the Welsh outfit.

Roberts left Sunderland in the summer transfer window to join Davies’ men on loan, and the St Andrew’s faithful now want the 28-year-old to join their side permanently.

One supporter commented on X: “I’ve seen enough of Patrick Roberts already. Sign him up Blues, quality player, while another fan excitedly added: “Patrick Roberts may be the best player to grace the beautiful game.”

Another Birmingham fan said: “I’m so happy for Patrick Roberts my man.”

One Blues supported added: “Needs to start every minute, of every game, for every season until he retires.

Another fan said: “Absolute baller.”

Chris Davies desperately needs an upturn in form

As alluded to by Birmingham supporters, Roberts is beginning to have a positive impact for the West Midlands club, with a goal and an assist in his last four games.

The man on loan from Sunderland has been a bright spark for Blues in recent weeks, so it is easy to see why fans want him to sign permanently.

However, after winning the League One title last term, Birmingham are keen on launching yet another promotion push, so Davies needs to turn their form around, as they are now winless in three games.

The St Andrew’s club host Hull City in their first game following the upcoming international break, and they will need to extinguish the threat of in-form Tigers striker Oli McBurnie.

Following their clash with Hull, Blues face Preston North End and Bristol City, who have both enjoyed strong starts to the Championship season ahead of a potential playoff push.
