Celtic supporters on social media believe that one time transfer target Steven Caulker may yet eventually sign for the Hoops.
The 26-year-old centre-back joined SPFL strugglers Dundee in an 18-month deal, which was announced on the Dens Park side’s official website.
The news came as a surprise as the former Spurs and QPR man was heavily linked with Celtic in the summer, with Brendan Rodgers, as quoted by the Daily Record, going as far as to not rule out making a move for the player.
That didn’t materialise however, and Caulker has joined Neil McCann’s side, where ironically he will be replacing Jack Hendry, who joined the Hoops from Dundee just before the closure of the January transfer window.
Some Hoops fans on social media believe that if he impresses in his time at Dundee, the Bhoys may yet make a move for the player in the summer, and some also fear that the Bhoys should have signed Caulker over Hendry.
Here are some of the best reactions to Caulker’s decision to join Dundee:
If he finds his form again at Dundee, Steven Caulker will be a celtic player by this time next year

Cant believe Dundee signed Steven Caulker. What a brilliant bit of business from them. Would have gave him a chance a Celtic to prove himself to be honest. Only 26 years old. Mental

So we buy Jack Hendry but don’t sign Steven Caulker. That’s such a Celtic to do

The Hoops are next in action on Saturday, when they attempt to bounce back from their 1-0 defeat to Kilmarnock when they continue their Scottish Cup defence at home to Partick Thistle.
