‘Incredible’ Everton player is so good he can ‘match the best I’ve ever seen’
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s impressive form at Everton should be rewarded with an England call-up.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who believes Thomas Tuchel needs to give the midfielder a chance in the Three Lions set-up.
In the summer transfer window, Dewsbury-Hall joined Everton from Chelsea amid a need for more playing time, and the 27-year-old has become a key player for David Moyes’ side.
Dewsbury-Hall has never received a senior England call-up, with the next World Cup now less than a year away.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall ‘performing at the highest level’
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – thinks Dewsbury-Hall ‘can match the best‘ in his position.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness though does state there is a lot of competition for a place in England‘s midfield.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Well, I’m not trying to be biased at all, but when I watched him on Saturday [vs Nottingham Forest], his engine was incredible. He was up and down all over the pitch.
“He really was remarkable. The trouble is, as we all know, there’s probably about eight or nine players in that position in the England squad who are all playing well right now.
“However, I do think he is such an honest player and such a talented player, and I think he would be a perfect fit for England in the summer. I’m aware of his competition there, but he should certainly be in the squad, because he is performing at the highest level, and he can match the best I’ve seen.
“I think he should be given a call, but as a Scotsman, maybe they should leave him out because he might do too well for England.”

Dewsbury-Hall concern in Chelsea clash
Dewsbury-Hall suffered an injury blow as he was forced off just 15 minutes into Everton‘s defeat at Chelsea.
The former Chelsea player has contributed four goals and two assists for the Toffees this campaign from the middle of the park.
An extended lay-off would be a blow to Moyes, with Jack Grealish also a potential concern ahead of next week’s visit of Arsenal.
