'Incredible' - Exclusive: Robinson drools over 'Clever' Rangers player who started v Celtic
Paul Robinson heaped praise on Rangers midfielder Scott Arfield and praised him for adapting his game.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the ex-England No.1 revealed he was impressed by how Arfield was still delivering the goods despite not being as fast as he used to be.
The 31-year-old midfielder started the Gers’ 1-0 loss to Celtic on Sunday in what was his 29th appearance of the season.
Robinson explained that he played alongside Arfield at Burnley so knew him really well, before raving about his ability to create goals.
When asked how big an asset Arfield is to Rangers, Robinson told Football Insider: “I played with Scott at Burnley and have seen the type of player he is around the dressing room.
“He’s 31-year-old now, one of the more experienced players, he has a great range of passes, he has adapted his game as he isn’t as quick as he used to be.

“But he can read the game very well as he is a very clever footballer, he can also chip in with goals.
“As I said I was with Arfield at Burnley and he was one of the first-name of Sean Dyche’s teamsheet as you knew how reliable he was.
“He’s such a fit lad for his age, and his engine is incredible.”
Arfield has scored three goals and registered three assists this season and scored 12 goals and racked up seven assist in his 2018/19 season.
The veteran midfielder arrived at Ibrox in August 2018 after joining the Gers on a free transfer from Premier League side Burnley.
