‘Incredible’ – Fabian Schar shares new update amid Newcastle transfer nightmare
Fabian Schar took to social media with a new message as Newcastle United continue their preparations for the new season.
Anthony Elanga is the latest arrival, signing from Nottingham Forest on a £55million deal [BBC Sport], but with that being confirmed over two weeks ago, supporters have been waiting anxiously for more news.
Antonio Cordero has also been signed, but with the 18-year-old winger seen as one for the future, there is far more focus on further exits and failed transfers at St James’ Park this summer.
The Mapgies have already missed out on the signatures of Joao Pedro, Jarell Quansah, Bryan Mbeumo, and now James Trafford, who is heading back to Man City, with just over a month remaining.
Despite securing Champions League football and winning the Carabao Cup last season, Eddie Howe is facing several high-profile exits before the window closes, and fans are extremely worried.

Fabian Schar prepares for 2025/26 campaign
Taking to Instagram stories (28 July), Schar shared a roll of images from the pre-season tour, nicely captioned: “More minutes in the tank. Incredible support out there, too,” with a Singapore flag.
The Magpies are currently without Alexander Isak, who decided to stay behind after the bombshell news that the Sweden international wants to explore his options ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Eddie Howe’s job is on the line at Newcastle United
Football Insider verdict
Losing Isak to Liverpool would be a catastrophic blow, and although the Magpies would receive quite a hefty transfer fee, it remains to be seen if the club would actually be able to spend that money.
Benjamin Sesko is the latest player to emerge on Newcastle‘s transfer list, and understandably so, given his performances in the Bundesliga, but even the quest to sign a new striker has been very slow.
Football Insider understands that Newcastle partly blame Howe for the transfer failures thus far, but the former Bournemouth figure has been able to do very little to help proceedings in the north.

The likes of Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali, Tino Livramento, and Anthony Gordon appear set to stay for at least another season, but it could all come crumbling down without a suitable striker replacement.
Isak has netted 62 goals over the last three seasons at St James’ Park, becoming the centre piece of the Mapies’ starting lineup. He is now considering an exit this summer.
Strengthening the backline would also be ideal, with Schar and Dan Burn the trusted centre-back partnership last season, but full focus will remain in the final third until a decision on Isak is made.
