Erik Lamela has delivered a message to Tottenham supporters after it was revealed he will not play again this season.
The club confirmed on Wednesday that the 25-year-old will undergo hip surgery on Saturday after failing to play since October.

He was only expected to be out of action for a short period of time but it now looks as though the Tottenham ace will finish the season having made just 14 appearances in all competitions.
“I have to have an operation,” said Lamela on his personal Instagram account, “I tried everything to recover but unfortunately my hip is still not 100% so I can’t compete at the level I want to.
“I’ll face this challenge with a positive attitude and can’t wait to get back with my team and be stronger.

Spurs will now have to try and solidify a Champions League spot for next season as well as try and win an FA Cup without the Argentine, who has been at the club since 2013.
Since he moved from Roma, Lamela has made 121 appearances across all competitions for Spurs scoring 19 goals and providing 31 assists.
Tottenham are currently second in the Premier League standings but are 10 points behind Chelsea at the top.
Questions are being asked by the supporters though as to why surgery on the crocked star is only taking place now after missing such a lengthy period of action already.
Lamela will have been on the sidelines for 10 months at the start of next season and there must be some doubts as to whether he’ll play for Tottenham again after reportedly falling out with the club’s medics.
