Inside Source: ‘Everton will agree five new signings soon, Douglas Luiz is one’
Everton have been tipped to complete up to five new signings in the next couple of weeks by a source close to the club.
The Toffees have made three additions to their squad so far this summer, as David Moyes looks to bolster his ranks ahead of the upcoming campaign.
The Merseyside club began the summer by making Charly Alcaraz’s loan permanent, and have also brought in striker Thierno Barry from Villarreal.
Last week, Everton confirmed the signing of Mark Travers from Bournemouth as well, with the goalkeeper expected to come in as backup to Jordan Pickford.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – reveals his old side could bring in as many as five new players in the coming weeks.

‘Luiz to Everton is poised and ready’
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that Douglas Luiz’s potential move to Everton is “poised” and could be completed in the next few weeks.
Luiz is set to leave Juventus this summer, just 12 months after his move from Aston Villa, and the Toffees are one of a number of Premier League clubs linked to the Brazilian.
Wyness added that although completing transfers will be made harder by the fact Everton have jetted off to America for a pre-season tour, he still expects them to get done.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “It’s been very quiet. Also, although it’s only ridiculous pre-season games like Accrington and Blackburn, the results have not been great.
“A 1-1 draw at Accrington and a loss at Blackburn. The fans are clever enough to know that doesn’t make any difference, but it’s been very quiet.
“I think the Douglas Luiz potential transfer is another example of probably four or five that are poised at the moment, but nothing is really breaking.
“Now we’re going to see Moyes and the team going across to the States for the Premier League pre-season tournament. That never helps with communication, although they’ll obviously be linked at different times of the day.
“It always helps if you’re face-to-face at Finch Farm, at the training ground, to get these sorts of deals over the line, also potentially meeting players. So it’s not a great time for this to have happened.
“It’s quiet, but they’ve got to get things done. The season is approaching quickly. The complications of America and the tour is one thing to take into account, but nevertheless, I do expect at least a couple to be done in the next couple of weeks.”

‘Everton plan to accept £25m offer’
Meanwhile, Everton are reportedly open to offers for Beto this summer amid growing interest from clubs in Europe as well as links with a move to Leeds United.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who claims that Moyes is planning for life without the 27-year-old.
The Toffees are aiming to get back the £25million spent to bring him to Merseyside in 2023, while work is ongoing to sign a second striker after Barry.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 5 July that Everton are interested in Millwall star Mihailo Ivanovic and could land him alongside their deal for Barry.
