Insider ‘beyond annoyed’ at Tottenham as Markanday begins medical
Tottenham are sending the wrong message to their youth players as Dilan Markanday undergoes a medical with Blackburn Rovers ahead of a permanent move.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Markanday, 20, was beginning a Rovers medical on Monday morning ahead of a permanent transfer.

The Championship club will pay £500,000 rising to £1million for the Spurs academy youth product.
The striker made his first-team debut this season, against Vitesse on 21 October.
Wenham is concerned for the future of other youth stars with Markanday set to leave.
“I’m beyond annoyed,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“It’s the bigger picture, it’s the message it sends to agents and parents.
“If the best academy player we have cannot get an opportunity, despite being the second-top scorer in the Premier League 2, what chance does that afford to others?
“If he can’t get on the bench against Morecambe when there were two goalkeepers included, what chance do other players have.
“It sends a really negative message. Chelsea are doing everything we aren’t.
“They are always selling players who have never kicked a ball for them. Look at Conor Gallagher, he’s never kicked a ball for Chelsea but how much is he worth? £30million?
“We have a poor loan system. Why wasn’t Markanday loaned out 18 months ago?

“Why wasn’t he handed a new long-term deal then?
“How have we allowed this to run and run and run to the point where we are giving him away for £500,000?“
