Insider claims West Ham have received seven-figure fee for 26-year-old

West Ham have received £5million from Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim for Havard Nordtveit, according to a club insider.

The Hammers announced via their official website on Tuesday afternoon that the 26-year-old would be departing east London and returning to Germany after just one-year.

The midfield enforcer initially joined on a free transfer, agreeing a five-year contract, but the West Ham website did not give any indication of the price in which they were selling him for with an “undisclosed fee” stated in the report.

A number of fans were however interested to know what the club received for Nordtveit and when one fan asked the well known in the know “ExWHUemployee” on social media, he responded on his personal Twitter account stating the club had received £5million with performance related clauses added in.

Nordtveit was part of a group of 13 senior players to join West Ham in the last two windows.

However, a number have now left the club after failing to impress, such as Gokhan Tore, Jonathan Calleri, Alvaro Arbeloa and Simone Zaza with Nordtveit now adding to the list.

The defensive midfielder played just 21 times in all competitions for Slaven Bilic’s team with a number of his appearances coming out of position in the right-back role and he will now be looking to put the season behind him.

In other West Ham transfer news, the Hammers are looking to employ a twice successful negotiating tactic to land this Premier League man.
