Insider: Conte knows 'brilliant' Skipp is 'insane' and 'the future of Tottenham'

Oliver Skipp is taking his game to the next level and Tottenham can only benefit.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Skipp, 21, started his 11th Premier League game of the season as Tottenham beat Norwich 3-0 on Sunday (5 December).

He was lauded on social media for a clever piece of play as he slid in to win the ball and play it back to one of his teammates at the same time.

Wenham was delighted with Skipp’s performance and insisted his game is developing under Antonio Conte.

“I always thought Skipp was going to have a good game,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He was at Norwich last year and he will have had that fire in his belly. He wanted to put a performance in.

“Skipp was a big part of Norwich’s success last year and he was well received by the fans.

“Yet again he turned in another fantastic performance. I’m so pleased with him. The development this season has been insane.

“I thought he started very well under Nuno. He was the only player Nuno would ever talk about in press conferences.

“Now Conte has taken over, he is still starting every game and playing brilliantly.

“Conte has recognised Skipp will be the future of Tottenham.

“He’s one of the first names on the teamsheet and he actually had a couple of shots on goal yesterday.

“He’s adding more to his game thanks to Conte and that can only benefit Tottenham in the long run.”
