Insider is absolutely certain about potential ‘£100m’ Lukaku transfer to Tottenham

There is no chance of Romelu Lukaku moving from Chelsea to Tottenham after being dropped by Thomas Tuchel.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

On 31 December, Sky aired an interview with Lukaku, 28, recorded earlier in December, where he admitted he was “not happy” with his situation at Chelsea.

As a result, he was not included in the squad that drew 2-2 with Liverpool on Sunday (2 January).

On Sunday, Gazetta Dello Sport reported the striker could look to force a move to Tottenham to reunite with Antonio Conte.

Wenham insists there is “zero chance” of Lukaku moving across London.

“Absolutely not, zero chance,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“There is more chance of someone who is six feet under signing for us.

“For starters, we already have Harry Kane and he is better than Lukaku.

“The guy is presumably on ridiculous wages and Chelsea haven’t sold anyone to us for two decades.

“The clubs don’t do business. This categorically won’t happen, I’ve never been so sure of anything. We aren’t going to give Chelsea £100million.

“Some of the reports on this have been really poor. It makes absolutely no sense at all.”

Lukaku re-joined Chelsea from Inter Milan in the summer of 2021 for a reported £97.5million.

He has so far scored five goals in 13 Premier League outings for the London club.

In other news, Kieran Maguire has claimed Tottenham could knock Manchester giants off their perch after ‘£10million’ reveal.
