Insider issues verdict on Tottenham potentially signing Isco after manager reveal

There is “no chance” of Tottenham signing Real Madrid star Isco during the January transfer window.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Isco, 29, has only started two La Liga games this season after falling out of favour with Carlo Ancelotti.

Speaking to MARCA on 21 December, Ancelotti described the playmaker’s position at Los Blancos as “complicated”.

Wenham admits he doesn’t want Tottenham to sign Isco and he expects the club also have no interest in the player.

“I read somewhere on social media that we are interested in signing Isco again,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

Maybe 10 years ago this would be a good signing. He’s been linked with Tottenham for the last decade at this point.

“He seems to come on a couple of times a season against the likes of Getafe and Eibar, basically to pad his stats.

“Isco is a player I’m sure Tottenham have absolutely no interest in signing.

“It’s much more likely he is a target for a club like Everton, the same way they signed James Rodriguez.

“I would say there is no chance of us signing Isco, that ship sailed a long time ago.”

Isco has won four Champions Leagues and two La Liga titles during his time with Real Madrid.

He has made 344 total appearances for the club after joining them in 2013.
