Insider: It’s going to be ‘toxic’ at Tottenham amid ‘huge’ Nuno claim

Nuno Espirito Santo could face his most toxic atmosphere as Tottenham boss when his side take on Manchester United.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Nuno is under renewed pressure after losing to Vitesse and West Ham over the space of four days last week.

This came after a mini resurgence from Spurs after they lost three straight games in the Premier League.

Nuno was under extreme pressure after his side lost 3-1 to Arsenal but Wenham claims the pressure will be even worse than that if Tottenham lose their two games this week.

“Were Tottenham to lose against Burnley and Manchester United, the pressure will be worse than it was after Arsenal,” McAvennie told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild

“Whoever loses that game on Sunday is going to be under so much pressure.

“I can basically say to you, if we lose those to Burnley, the atmosphere inside the stadium against Man United will be toxic.

“A lot of the people who are still with Nuno and that good feeling will be gone.

“If we were to lose to Man United after going out of the cup through the week, it would be very toxic.

“I personally think we will beat Burnley but if we don’t, that pressure on Nuno will be huge.”

“Jose Mourinho got lucky with not having fans in the stadium, Nuno doesn’t have that luxury.

“I’m very interested to hear what the atmosphere is like in any case next weekend.”
