Insider: Lo Celso tipped to leave Tottenham in January after speaking with 'expert'
Tottenham could look to sell Giovanni Lo Celso in January and replace him with a more creative player.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Lo Celso, 25, has only started eight games in all competitions this season.
He has contributed one goal and one assist in 14 total outings this season.
However, he remains a key part of the Argentina setup and added a Copa America winner’s medal to his collection in the summer of 2021.
Wenham, who recently spoke with Sky Sports’ South America expert Tim Vickery on the Last Word On Spurs podcast, can’t understand why Lo Celso doesn’t perform for his club side.

“He’s more of an Argentina player than a Tottenham player at this point,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I spoke to Tim Vickery recently and he was waxing lyrical about Lo Celso and he said he can’t comprehend Lo Celso’s situation.
“He’s an expert and obviously he understands South American football far better than I do.
“Lo Celso is a key player for a Copa America-winning Argentina side who are unbeaten in however many games, yet he doesn’t start for Tottenham.
“There are issues. He’s always injured. When he does play, we never see much from him.
“Perhaps he was unlucky to miss a chance against Everton a few weeks ago but that’s the story of his career.
“He’s played at PSG and Betis, the notion that he needs more time to settle doesn’t wash with me.
“He’s another one who Tottenham might look to sell.
“We are crying out for a creative player who can actually complete a 38-game season.”
