Insider: ‘Questions being asked’ internally at Rangers after ‘headline-grabbing’ reveal
Questions will be asked internally about Rangers’ injury crisis.
That is the view of medical expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in injury and data analysis, speaking exclusively to Football Insider.
Rangers were without 11 players for their 3-1 defeat to Ajax on Tuesday night (1 November) that confirmed their Champions League campaign as the worst in history.

Ridvan Yilmaz, Kemar Roofe, Ryan Jack, Connor Goldson, Ben Davies, Ianis Hagi, Filip Helander, John Souttar, Tom Lawrence and Nnamdi Ofoborh are all currently unavailable.
“They are headline grabbers,” Dinnery told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“With 12 injuries and the impact that it is having, the eyes will shift towards that.
“Internally, I dare say that questions will be asked and they will be looking to find some commonality between those problems.
“Is there anything that’s being done to avoid these problems? Is there anything that’s bringing them on?
“What you’ve got to consider is, don’t look at those injuries as a whole. Don’t blanket them. You need to understand those players individually, the mechanisms of injury and whether they could be avoided.
“Football is a contact sport and you will pick up injuries regardless of how well you prepare ahead of games.
“It depends on the individual and it depends on the injury. If there are areas of potential improvement or where they can do a little bit better, they will be addressed internally.

“The medical department are always reactionary. A player gets injured they then go and see the physio to get treatment. The medical team are rarely involved in training on a daily basis.
“They often get a rough deal with how they are perceived in the whole process.”
