Insider: Tottenham ‘are in’ for ‘unbelievable’ Vlahovic in January
Dusan Valhovic would be a “phenomenal” signing for Tottenham in January.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Corriere dello Sport reported on 15 November that Tottenham are firm favourites to sign Dusan Vlahovic, 21, in January.
On 5 October, Fiorentina released a statement confirming the striker would not sign a new contract with the club.
The hitman has scored 17 goals in 19 total outings this season.
Wenham has admitted he is concerned by the weekly updates Tottenham fans are seeing on their club’s reported pursuit of the striker.
“I’m a bit sceptical on this deal,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“There a weekly update on this now, saying Tottenham are still interested.
“It’s saying a lot without saying anything. I don’t know if there is some sort of agency interference here.
“On a weekly basis, we are getting reports that Tottenham are ‘still in’ for Vlahovic.
“On what basis are we still in? Is that because we are prepared to pay whatever the asking price is?
“I’m a little unsure as to why it is being said we are still in for him.
“In any case, he’s scoring every week. By all accounts, he’s an unbelievable player.
“It would be a phenomenal signing for us. He is an option and I imagine we are in for him.
“There is just a lot going around about these kinds of deals.”
