Insider: Tottenham could trigger Chelsea fan 'backlash' as Christensen 'pally with Conte'
Andreas Christensen’s “pally” relationship with Antonio Conte will not stop him from snubbing Tottenham and moving elsewhere.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Christensen‘s contract at Stamford Bridge expires at the end of June next year.
Football Insider revealed (26 November) that Chelsea had made a breakthrough in negotiations over a new deal with the player.
According to the Daily Star (11 December), Tottenham would be interested in signing Christensen if he fails to agree fresh terms.
Christensen worked with Conte at Chelsea but Wenham claims any relationship the two men have will play a minimal role in the defender’s thinking.

“Think of the backlash from Chelsea fans,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Would he risk all of that to join Tottenham? Or would he go to Bayern Munich?
“Over there he can live the good life and get all the money in the world while not being bothered by fans.
“He’s guaranteed Champions League football over there and quote possibly Champions League success.
“I just don’t see, however pally he is with Conte, that being a big enough factor to sway his decision making.
“I just don’t think it is worthwhile for him to do that.”
Antonio Conte knows Christensen well from his time at Chelsea between 2016 and 2018.
Speaking to Sky Sports in February 2018, Conte said: “Christensen is having a fantastic season and he’s showing great maturity. His performance was wonderful.”
