West Ham have completed the signing of teenage Ghanaian goalkeeper Joseph Anang, according to a club insider.

ExWHUemployee, who is a reliable source of Hammers transfer information has reported on their Twitter account on Thursday afternoon that the 19-year-old has joined Slaven Bilic’s side and is now waiting on international clearance before confirmation.

Anang has spent the summer with West Ham and has been given opportunities to showcase his talents in the club’s Under-23s.

His addition also marks the Hammers’ second goalkeeper signing of the window after bringing in the more experienced Joe Hart on loan from Manchester City.

The signing of Hart has seen Darren Randolph move out to Middlesbrough in search of first team football, while Adrian could also be heading for the exit doors after the addition of the England international.

It is reported that West Ham will seek a replacement if the Spaniard leaves and that is unlikely to be Anang, but supporters will certainly be hoping that he can contribute in the future.

The signing of Anang has almost certainly been made with the long-term in mind and with some doubts over the productivity of the West Ham academy recently fans will be pleased to see the club investing in it. Now, little is known of the teenage Ghanaian, but the Hammers have been impressed by what they have seen from him and he could be lining up for the east London club between the sticks in a few years time. The goalkeeper position has been a cause of concern for West Ham in the past year and supporters will be delighted to see the club are addressing it this summer with the additions of Hart and Anang.

In other West Ham transfer news, the Hammers could be involved in a swap deal which would see 26-year-old move to east London.
