'Amazing' - International enforcer raves about Tottenham star before head-to-head clash
Juventus and Germany midfielder Sami Khedira has said that Tottenham’s Harry Kane is among the best strikers in the world ahead of their Champions League clash next week.
The two sides meet for the very first time in competitive competition after being drawn against each other for the first knock out round of the Champions League.
The first leg sees Tottenham travel to Turin next Tuesday before welcoming the Italian giants, who were last year’s runners up to Real Madrid, to Wembley three weeks late, meaning they will have faced both finalists from the last campaign after beating Real Madrid in the group stages.
One man who has been a pivotal member of Juve’s squad this season, with 23 appearances under his belt, has been Khedira, and he says that he will be facing up against one of the best side’s in Europe.
However he has singled out the Lilywhites’ star striker Kane for praise after his incredible season in front of goal, and the 72-cap German enforcer says the English hitman deserves to be recognised among the best strikers in the world.
He told BBC Sports’ Football Focus: “He is maybe the most complete striker.
“He’s strong, he’s good with his head, he’s fast, he’s good with his feet.
“He can score with one touch, he can dribble; for me he is an amazing player.”
Kane has scored at a rate of nearly a goal-a-game this season, with 31 strikes coming in his 32 outings across all competitions, with six of those goals scored in five Champions League appearances.
In other Tottenham news, Mauricio Pochettino has branded one man a “genius” for his role in their improved form.
