International midfielder on Leeds transfer: Club are simply too big to reject
By Alex Stevens
Stuart Dallas has revealed how he was never going to reject the opportunity of a transfer to Leeds.
The left winger made the move from Championship club Brentford to the Yorkshire giants in the summer of 2015.
Dallas has been a first-team regular under three different managers, Uwe Rosler, Steve Evans and incumbent Gary Monk, since his £1.5million switch 18 months ago.
The 25-year-old attracted interest from a number of Championship clubs at that point but revealed he always had his heart set on a move to the former Champions League club.
“There was a few teams in but obviously I chose Leeds,” said Dallas, as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post. “You are never going to turn a club like Leeds down and I’m happy that I’ve done that.”
Dallas has made 76 appearances for Leeds since transferring from their Championship rivals, scoring eight goals and supplying nine others.
The 18-times Northern Ireland international has held on to his regular starting place in recent weeks despite the deadline day signings of two wingers, Alfonso Pedraza and Modou Barrow.
The competition for wide roles are now the fiercest since Dallas joined, with revitalised Souleymane Doukara, Kemar Roofe and Hadi Sacko also in contention for the key attacking positions.
He has made 27 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring three goals and supplying two assists.
Dallas has not yet been able to match his impressive haul for Brentford in 2014-15, when he scored nine as they reached the Championship play-offs.
In other Leeds news, the club are eying a stunning triple transfer swoop as three players headed into the training ground.
