
Ipswich Town make Kieran McKenna sack decision – sources
Ipswich Town are not looking to part company with manager Kieran McKenna this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The Tractor Boys are keen to avoid losing McKenna, 38, despite the club’s likely relegation back to the Championship.
They are 14 points adrift of safety in 17th following their 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Sunday (13 April) and have just 18 points left to fight for this season.
McKenna, who masterminded back-to-back promotions at Portman Road, is under contract until June 2028 after signing a new deal at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
Ipswich will not sack McKenna this summer
Despite their imminent relegation, Ipswich have impressed at times in the Premier League and look set to finish above fellow promoted sides Southampton and Leicester this term.
Sources say McKenna remains highly regarded in coaching circles after his efforts in the 2024-25 campaign.

He has previously been linked with the manager role at Man United – where he was coach and later assistant boss under the likes of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Jose Mourinho.
Chelsea and Brighton were also previously mentioned as potential destinations for the highly-rated young boss.

Ipswich star Clarke lined up for Eredivisie move
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 10 April that PSV Eindhoven are plotting a summer swoop for Ipswich Town winger Jack Clarke.
The Tractor Boys are likely to want to recoup a big chunk of the £15million fee they paid to Sunderland last year.
The winger, who is under contract at Portman Road until June 2029, has scored three goals and notched six assists for McKenna’s side this term.
