
Ipswich Town open talks to sign Luton Town’s Chiedozie Ogbene – sources
Ipswich Town are in talks to sign Luton Town forward Chiedozie Ogbene, sources have told Football Insider.
The Premier League newcomers are keen to bolster their attack before Friday’s (30 August) transfer deadline.
Ipswich have set their sights on Ogbene, who can play across the front three.
The Republic of Ireland international left Rotherham for Luton last summer (2023) after the Hatters’ promotion to the Premier League.
But Rob Edwards’ side couldn’t prevent relegation and Ogbene could join another promoted side in the final days of the window.
Ipswich chase Ogbene deal before Friday’s transfer deadline
The Lagos-born star has started in each of Luton’s three Championship games this term but is yet to score.
He scored five goals in 36 appearances across all competitions for the Hertfordshire side last term, with four of those strikes coming in the Premier League.
The 24-year-old has primarily played as a right winger for Luton but can play on the left flank and lead the line.
