Ipswich Town’s Kieran McKenna sack stance revealed
Ipswich Town remain “fully behind” Kieran McKenna despite their winless start to the season, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the 38-year-old has “so much credit in the bank” with the football club.
The newly promoted side have yet to win their first match in the Premier League, but they have picked up four points from their opening nine matches.
The club expected a difficult start to the season, but getting the first win could relieve the pressure on both the players and the manager.
The club’s hierarchy fully supports McKenna, and he believes that his squad has enough quality to make a real fight to stay in the division this season.
There is not expected to be any panic or kneejerk reactions just yet at Portman Road as Ipswich continues to try and navigate life in the top flight.
Kieran McKenna is going to be backed by Ipswich Town
The Tractor Boys are one of three teams without a win this season, but they are only two points away from getting out of the relegation zone.
McKenna penned a new deal at Portman Road during the off-season and has plenty of credit after guiding the club from League One to the English top flight.
The young manager has attracted interest from West Ham and Man United due to his impressive results throughout his career.

Ipswich have an important fixture on Saturday (2 November) when they face fellow newly promoted side Leicester City.
The Foxes have a five-point advantage over McKenna’s side and have managed two victories since returning to the Premier League.
