Tottenham legend Graham Roberts has blasted Sky Sports for reporting that Chelsea could make a move to appoint Mauricio Pochettino as their manager to replace Antonio Conte.

The broadcaster claimed on their website that Conte is expected to leave Stamford Bridge after Saturday’s FA Cup final with Manchester United and the 2016/17 Premier League champions will be interested in making Pochettino his successor.

Former Spurs star Roberts was seething after seeing the report and launched a scathing attack on the broadcaster for their reports on the Tottenham senior man.

“It makes you laugh Sky Sports News puts up a story that Chelsea want our manager from a Sky source, has this sky source ever got a story right? Has he got a name ? Just a load ******* trying to wind supporters up, as they have nothing interesting on the show so just make it up,” he said on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday morning.

Football Insider verdict

Roberts needs to chill out. This is not the first time he has hit out at Sky Sports in what seems to be a never-ending vendetta he has against the broadcaster, and this time it’s pretty ridiculous. All Sky Sports have reported is that Chelsea would be interested in Pochettino. Who wouldn’t be interested in Pochettino? He is a brilliant manager and has done wonders in North London. It would be crazy if Chelsea weren’t interested in the Argentine manager to replace Conte. Even though they are interested, they will never get him. Daniel Levy would not dream of letting Pochettino join another Premier League club, let alone one of their bigger rivals. Pochettino is not going anywhere, despite all the speculation, he seems very happy at Spurs and he will surely continue for at least two more years. The same can be said about some of the players. Will Harry Kane be a one club man? And when will Real Madrid or someone of a similar ilk make a bid for Dele Alli or Christian Eriksen?

In other Tottenham news, this £30million-rated jet-heeled attacker would be a stunning addition at Spurs’ new stadium for next season.
