‘It will get done’ – Incredible Liverpool summer takes new twist, they will sign off on ‘£65m’ deal

Liverpool could sign off on a £65million deal in the coming weeks which would have a major impact on their forward line.

It has been an incredible transfer window so far for Arne Slot’s side, who have shown no signs of slowing down after cruising to the Premier League title last season.

The Reds have completed standout deals to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen and Hugo Ekitike from Frankfurt, as well as bringing in full-backs Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez.

However, current winger Luis Diaz has been linked with an Anfield exit, with German giants Bayern Munich interested in acquiring his services.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that negotiations between Liverpool and Bayern are now in their final stages.

‘Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich will get done’

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that Diaz’s move to Germany will get done, and that the transfer will be announced within the next couple of weeks.

Earlier this month (16 July), Liverpool rejected a £58.5million bid from Bayern, despite the Colombian winger making it clear that he wants to leave.

Wyness added that the final price for Diaz will be around the £65m mark.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think it’s best thing for him to go. I think he will settle, and there is talent there.

“He can get into a scoring mechanism at Bayern, and the style of play in the Bundesliga will suit him very well. I think he’ll go well.

“It’s just down to a final price negotiation between Liverpool and Bayern. I think that’ll get done. It will likely be around the £65m mark, and I think it will be announced in the next couple of weeks.”

Real Madrid to submit Ibrahima Konate offer

Meanwhile, Real Madrid could make an attempt to sign Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate for as little as £25million during the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Xabi Alonso’s side are long-term admirers of the centre-back, who has just one year remaining on his contract, and are prepared to test the Reds’ resolve.

However, Football Insider revealed Liverpool will demand £40million to sell Konate this summer as they are reluctant to see him leave either this summer or next.

Instead, Madrid are believed to be lining up a deal to bring the France international to the Bernabeu on a free transfer in 2026 as they did with Trent Alexander-Arnold.
