‘It’s all over’ for Pogba at Man United after Ornstein reveal – pundit

Kevin Phillips has claimed Paul Pogba “will almost certainly leave” Man United next year ahead of the appointment of an interim manager.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Premier League striker suggested the managerial uncertainty at Old Trafford will lead to Pogba’s exit.

Man United are expected to announce Ralf Rangnick as their interim manager until the end of the season this week.

As first reported by David Ornstein last Thursday (25 November), the ex-Schalke and RB Leipzig boss will take temporary charge of the first team while helping the club in their search for a new permanent manager.

Phillips does not believe Rangnick is capable of persuading Pogba to extend his contract with Red Devils.

“I would say it’s all over for Pogba at Man United now,” he told Football Insider. “His time is up.

“He could be looking for a move already.

“The only situation I could have seen him staying at Man United was if a manager comes in and persuades him to stay. But with an interim coming in I think he will now almost certainly leave.

“How many top-class managers has Pogba played under now? He has never shown that consistency. We know what he can do on a one-off but he just hasn’t done it consistently.

“I think Rangnick will move him on and bring someone else in. Pogba will be out come the summer.”

Pogba’s contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of next June.

The centre-midfielder has made 219 appearances for club.
