‘It’s amazing’ – Stefan Borson reveals what Man City have said about 115 charges case
Manchester City are continuing to wait for the verdict to be delivered in their 115 charges case.
Man City were dealt the charges by the Premier League in February 2023 for allegedly breaching the financial fair play (FFP) rules over a nine-year period between 2009 and 2018.
Pep Guardiola’s side are alleged to have concealed payments through third parties by disguising them as sponsorship revenue.
An independent commission hearing started in September 2024 and ended in December that same year, with the panel still considering its verdict.
Man City are in the dark over the 115 charges decision after little information has been revealed about the case.

Man City 115 charges update shared after documents analysed
Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider Guardiola’s side provided an update on the case in their latest accounts.
Man City released their accounts for 2024-25 last week, showing their revenue fell from a club-record £715m in 2023-24 to £694.1m last season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider about what Man City revealed in regards to their 115 charges case, Borson said: “There’s a couple of messages that just say that as of the date of publishing those accounts, that the decision hasn’t been received.
“Now, it is possible that by the date of publication, they mean 8 October, which is the date the accounts were signed off. But the more natural reading I would argue would be that it’s the date that they were published last week.
“Therefore, it confirms that no decision has been received by the club, which as I’ve said before, my understanding is that is the case and that they have not received the decision of the independent commission.”

Man City have shown signs of confidence the decision will go in their favour after they haven’t held back in their business operations over the past year.
Man City 115 charges delay is ‘inexplicable’
Borson insisted the verdict is now likely to be delayed until next year.
“As we sit here today, I think it’s now done for 2025,” said Borson.
“I don’t see that there’s any real possibility that the decision can be dropped before the year-end now. We’re into the Christmas period, where I just don’t think that it would be done from a PR and press perspective at all.

“I think we are now in the 2026 territory, which is obviously amazing. I think it’s largely inexplicable that it could take over a year to produce a private arbitration decision of this type, but that’s where we are.”
It is believed Man City are spending around £25m in their 115 charges case, with the Premier League’s legal bill expected to be in a similar ballpark.
